"Treasure" logo competition

> Logo competition guidelines
Design a logo to represent our Erasmus+ project  “Treasure”3 secondary schools are involved:

Mid Yell Junior High School in Yell in Shetland,

Collège Le Dimitile in the village of Entre-Deux on the island of La Réunion,

Instituto de Educacion Secundaria El Yelmo”in the village of Segura de la Sierra in Andalousia in Spain.

The aims of the project are:

- To share our Eco School work :

- what we do to reduce, reuse and recycle

- Understanding ways in which energy can be produced using local resources : wind and wave power (in Shetland), the use of bagasse a by-product of sugar cane to produce electricity (in La Réunion). In Spain they will focus on explaining how the by-product of olives is used to produce soap.

- To learn about other cultures : local produce, events, music, language, gastronomy, wildlife…etcThe name “Treasure” suggest what we treasure, what we care for, what’s important to us…

The task:

- Do some research about Segura de la Sierra/ Andalusiaand Entre Deux/La Réunion : geography, wildlife, landmarks… Jot down your ideas for all 3 places including Yell/Shetland.

- Decide which elements you are going to keep for your logo.

- Remember that a logo tends not to be overcomplicated. Have a look at existing ones

- Sketch a few ideas.

- Select your best one and submit your best version of itThe selection process :Each school is going to select their best 5 designs. We will have a vote within our school.

5 local artists from each country are going to decide which design, out of 15 put forward is their favourite one.We will have an exhibition of those logos as well as one piece of artwork from each “judge” to introduce our project to the wider community and learn a bit about each location through Art.We will use the winning logo throughout the project which will run until June 2016.
